President Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea Meets with GLOBE Representatives at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center

On 14 October 2015, President Park Geun-hye, of the Republic of Korea, visited NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. The visit offered an opportunity to celebrate collaborative efforts between the United States and the Republic of Korea along with presentations on current projects and programs underway at Goddard.

Included in the event was a GLOBE Program presentation by Lyn Wigbels, International Coordinator, NASA’s GLOBE Implementation Office, and Todd Toth, GLOBE Training Coordinator at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The Republic of Korea has been a long time member of the GLOBE Community. Ms. Wigbels welcomed President Park and thanked her for the Republic of Korea’s partnership since the beginning of the Program. Mr. Toth presented current NASA satellite programs (GPM – Global Precipitation Measurement and SMAP – Soil Moisture Active/Passive) in which students in Korea could participate.
