Hi!
Spring has come and we've just observed budburst on our trees!
Recently the weather has been sunny, with average temperature of 11-12°C; we had moderate precipitation the previous week and the soil is still muddy in our schoolgarden.
Here is the timing of budburst of our observed species (photos refer to their budburst day).

HAZEL (Corylus avellana)
Budburst: March 8th (all four buds)

NORWAY MAPLE (Acer platanoides) - Site A
Budburst: March 17th (all four buds)

BIRCH (Betula pendula) - Site A
Budburst: March 20th (only bud n.4)
The other observed buds are still swelling...
Birch is awakening more slowly and later than last year, while the timing of budburst is similar to 2023.

Bye!

Students of 2^A and 3^A classes
