I am a fifth grade science and math teacher in Arkansas. I have loved studying the stars and space since I was a kid.  I love to instill my love of science into my students. We study the sun in science so we will definitely be watching the eclipse as part of this unit. The week leading up to the eclipse we will be learning about what an eclipse is and the frequency of eclipses. We will also talk about safety while observing the eclipse, including how I observed an eclipse when I was a kid using a cardboard box.  I am so excited for me and my students to be able to participate in this event.
