Community Feedback Forum
These message boards are a place for you to let us know about things that you would like to see as the website grows, and a place where you can contact us if you find something on the site that is broken or that does not work as you would expect.
This area of the site is not intended to replace contacting the GLOBE Implementation Office Community Support team; it is to give you a place to leave a comment and to see comments from others (to get a sense of what areas of trouble others are having or features that other users are requesting).

The GPS protocol needs to be added as a training option in the workshop creation pages in workshop administration. All of the other protocols can be selected, but GPS is missing.
The GPS protocol is an important one because you can not define a study site without it, so you can't report any data in any area of GLOBE without knowing and doing the GPS protocol.
Today I was helping a teacher find the correct protocol pages, field guides and datasheets for her class in the new website. We were in the atmosphere section.
The GPS datasheet is not available as a stand alone download with the other datasheets in each protocol section. It is included as page 39 of 44 pages in the GPS pdf linked on the left side under all of the other protocols. But I would not expect a teacher to find it there, especially since the datasheets are not included in the protocol pdf's for the other protocols.
As the only datasheet required for every single GLOBE site, the GPS Protocol Datasheet should be available as a stand alone datasheet download in every protocol section.
Also the GPS field guide should be included as its own pdf in each of the field guide sections.
Another alternative would be to give GPS it's own protocol area?
Thank you for catching this. In all the shuffling of content from one website to another the GPS chapter was moved over but the individual data sheets and field guides were not. We are correcting this; I've added GPS and Offset GPS data sheets and field guides to the appropriate pages of the Atmosphere Investigation and will add them to the other investigations.
Best regards,
Gary
it is still not possible to identify the GPS Protocol as something that will be trained in a workshop, and as such there is also no way to assign a trainer to that task.
it is still not possible to identify GPS Protocol as a protocol trained during a workshop, given that no site can/should be defined without completion of the GPS protocol and no data can be entered on a site without the site having been defined, this is a problem. We need to be able to select GPS Protocol as a part of our workshop and assign a trainer to it.
Thanks.
