Our ozone question was: How does ozone affect leaves and the development of leaves? We conducted our experiment by placing a leaf outside next to an ozone strip. After an hour we took the ozone strip from outside and calculated the parts per billion (ppb) along with the temperature and humidity. We then examined the leaf and saw that it stayed the same. We think this was caused partly by the wax coating. After that we graphed our results and found that ozone does not affect the development of leaves for this type of tree. Next year we will try different plants for a longer period of time.

I have a few questions for you! First, do you think if the surface ozone levels stayed elevated for an extended period of time that would change the leaves? How could you test that? Next, do you think certain types of trees might be more vulnerable or less vulnerable to surface ozone? Finally, what made you come up with your hypothesis?
