In the evening, the team of organizers noticed fireflies hanging around the Cogon grass at
Khlong Chang near their house. Therefore, the team wanted to study some environmental factors
that affect the density of the fireflies at Ban Sam-lai Tai, Khok Thai Sub-district, Pak Thong Chai,
Nakhon Ratchasima. This study used the GLOBE method to examine the physical properties of the
soil. It is a round, easily broken soil, a sandy loam soil. The chemical properties of the soil are NPK
at a moderate to high level. Soil temperature is between 24.5 to 29.5 degrees Celsius. The Soil
moisture to be between 8 to 10. And found 1-20 snails. The average air temperature was between
25.5 to 33 degrees Celsius. The average relative humidity is between 63 to 92 percent. Average
light intensity is between 200 to 1,650 Lux. Rainfall is between 3 to 12 millimeters, cool weather,
light to moderate rain, and a lot of water vapor in the air. The fireflies will be found from 19.00
onwards. And the average water temperature is between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius. The average
transparency of the water is between 35 and 50 centimeters. The average DO value in the water
is between 5 to 6. The water is clean at a good level. We found freshwater small animals, namely,
water kangaroos, 1-3 individuals, and burrowing white-headed larvae, 1-5 individuals. These animals
indicate that clean water and a ecosystem affect the density of the fireflies. This study is based on
the hypothesis.
