Quick Summary
Accessing the Site Admin Menu
- Open the site admin menu by clicking the admin menu icon at the
top left
.
- Navigate to your organization page (if not already on the site) by
opening the 'Go To' menu and then 'My Organizations' and then select
your organization.
- You should see your organization name on the site admin menu.
Creating a news story (events is similar)

Open Content & Data > Web Content

Click the blue + button at the top right and select News

Enter all the required fields (note: the site has been recently
updated so the fields described in the video do not exactly match
what's on the website form).

Confirm that the Organization field (the last field) contains the
name of your organization. This will ensure the story will display
on the organization page and can be filtered on News list pages.
You can also add additional organizations to be associated with
the story by clicking the + symbol at the bottom of the
Organization field.

On the right panel, select any appropriate categories (Metadata).
The Event topics category is required for Events.

Also on the right panel, is the ability to request a story is
pushed up to your region, U.S. (if a partner), and the main GLOBE
website. Just check the desired boxes under 'Distribute To'.

Click Publish to create the story.
Viewing your story
- To view the story (and all your news stories) in the Admin Site
Menu, return to Content & Data > Web Content and under the
'Filter and Order' drop down menu, select 'News' (or Events).
- Stories can be edited by clicking on the 3 dots on the far right
of the story title.
- Under Filter and Order menu, you can see just your news stories or
all stories created by you and other members of your organization.
Viewing your story on your site
- Return to your organization site. There's a link on the site admin
menu labelled 'Go to Site' to return to your site.
- The news story will be listed on the home page (country sites), if
the story is one of the 3 most recent stories.
- Click the News link on the side nav to see the story on your news
list page.
Short Cut to Create a News Story (or event)
- On the News page, roll over the News filters to reveal the widget
title (in this case Asset Publisher).
- Click the grey + symbol and select News.
- The News web editor will open for you to create your story.
