April 2024 GLOBE Eclipse Science Results

New GLOBE Camp Programming Guides!
GLOBE is going to camp! GLOBE is pleased to offer a new resource guide that provides camp educators with activities and programming ideas built on GLOBE Observer. The new guide will help campers monitor the conditions of clouds, water, and plants, to study change over time.  >>

Tracking Change in Dixie National Forest

GLOBE Eclipse and Civil Air Patrol: An Astronomical Collaboration
The GLOBE Program and the Civil Air Patrol collaborated to collect data during the total solar eclipse in April 2024, with CAP cadets and senior members participating from every U.S. state, two U.S. territories, and two Canadian provinces.  >>

A Call for Daily Observations of Fall Color to Support Student Research Campaigns
GLOBE students across North America and Europe are working together to document seasonal change this September through December. The Trees Within LAC (Latin America and Caribbean region) Campaign is also collecting information about the tree species of the localities where students reside and their dynamics over time. We invite volunteers of all ages and in all countries to support their work by collecting regular Trees and Land Cover data with GLOBE Observer.   >>

Bridging Observations from Space and Ground: Citizen Science's Role in Monitoring Alaska's River Ice
In Alaska, volunteers under programs like Fresh Eyes on Ice and The GLOBE Program collect critical data that feeds into larger research frameworks. By combining multi-satellite imagery and ground-level observations, scientists can observe and analyze ice conditions with unprecedented detail and accuracy.  >>
