Dr Waleed Abdalati

NASA Chief Scientist

Dr. Waleed Abdalati was the Keynote Speaker for the 2011 GLOBE Annual Partner Meeting in Washington D.C.  Dr. Abdalati, Director of the Earth Science Observation Center of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), is currently serving a two year appointment as NASA Chief Scientist. Trained as an aeronautical engineer and as a geographer, Dr. Abdalati is engaged in research focusing on the use of satellites and aircraft in understanding changes in Earth's ice cover and what they mean for life on our planet. He will address participants of the 15th Annual Partner Meeting on 18 June 2011.

We really enjoyed Dr. Abdalati address at the meeting in Washington , D.C. and also his NASA webcast that came some time after it. Thank you for inspiring the next generation of scientists!
