The Technology Working Group works among the various teams comprising The GLOBE Program to explore how technology can be used most effectively within the program. Through these efforts, this group aims to enhance GLOBE's data and implementation efforts within the community.

vision

Vision

To serve as a liaison between the GLOBE user community, GLOBE Data Information System (DIS) team and GLOBE Implementation Office (GIO) to help ensure optimal user experience with the GLOBE website and associated technologies.

Mission

To provide regional insights on local technological challenges and to offer input on priorities of proposed upcoming improvements to the GLOBE DIS. When these improvements are implemented, the Technology Working Group delivers that message to its respective communities. Additionally, the group investigates new and innovative technologies as well as connects with teachers, students, scientists and citizen scientists to facilitate direct feedback from users.

Working Group Guiding Principles

The GLOBE Technology Group helps facilitate greater accessibility to GLOBE content and technologies for a diverse group of users. These users include individuals who speak multiple languages, belong to different age groups or are members of disadvantaged populations. The group's areas of focus concerning accessibility are greatly informed by the recommendations of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Working Group.

Additionally, through the Accessibility Technology Solution Sub-Committee, the group also investigates ways technology can make GLOBE's tools and resources more easily accessible for everyone.
