Do you ever wonder why you can walk on a snow drift? Join
Christi Buffington (University of Alaska Fairbanks) and Julia White
(NASA Snow Ex Intern, University of Alaska Fairbanks) on 4 December at
4:00 pm ET (9:00 pm UTC) to learn about snow physics, drift formation
and snow on roofs as well as how to measure snow depth and snow water
equivalent (SWE) using Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the
Environment (GLOBE), a worldwide citizen science program hosted in
Alaska at the UAF International Arctic Research Center. You'll also
learn about Qanniksuq: It Is Snowing Cultural Connections to Alaska
Science curriculum by the UAF Geophysical Institute.
