On 22 April, Earth Day, the GLOBE Program celebrates its 30th anniversary. Our 2025 Earth Day Broadcast: Celebrating 30 Years of the GLOBE Program will highlight how the program has impacted science, people, and communities in its 30 years. It will also announce the 2025–26 GLOBE Student Vlogger cohort and the International Virtual Science Symposium (IVSS) research project teams selected to attend the 2025 GLOBE Student Experience.  >>

GLOBE Mission Earth is hosting a webinar for the Urban Heat Island (UHI) Intensive Observation Period (IOP) on Monday, 28 April 2025, at 3 pm ET (19:00 UTC).  >>

In this state of Trees Campaign webinar on 29 April, students at the National University (UN) of Comahue in Argentina and at the University of Texas (UT) at Tyler in the United States will share how they collaborated to research the impact of trees on carbon storage and surface temperature.   >>

The 2025 GLOBE Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting will be held virtually on 5–7 May 2025 (tentatively). This milestone event celebrates 30 years of the GLOBE Program and its impact on environmental science education in the region.  >>

The GLOBE Africa Regional Meeting for the 27 participating GLOBE Africa countries will be held virtually this year to enable greater participation. The event will include capacity building and skills development.  >>

Join Dr. Kevin Czajkowski, lead scientist for the GLOBE Urban Heat Island Effect IOP at the University of Toledo, to learn how adoption of surface temperature protocols by teachers has changed over time and the type of student and scientist projects that have been completed.  >>

Join Anne Lewis as she discusses MacroBlitz; a project to inspire and empower people to find and photograph aquatic macroinvertebrates and upload those photos to iNaturalist for science and learning. MacroBlitz is GLOBE-adjacent and will support those with an interest in the freshwater macroinvertebrate protocol. This session will provide an overview of MacroBlitz, an orientation to resources, and an introduction to key MacroBlitz skills.  >>
