2022 North American Regional Meeting (NARM) Will Take Place on 02-04 (Virtual) and 07-08 (In Person) November
The GLOBE North American Regional Meeting (NARM) is held every year to bring together members of the U.S. GLOBE community to learn and share ideas. Due to the continuing constraints of COVID-19, as well as ensuring the event is accessible to all GLOBE partners regardless of funding, the NARM will be presented in a different format this year. The meeting will be divided into two sections, one virtual and one in-person, over several days in November. A final culminating virtual event will be held to bring everyone together to share reflections on the NARM.
The first part of NARM will be a virtual three-day meeting, from 02-04 November. Each day of the meeting will last approximately two hours, and will consist of synchronous discussion and networking centered around pre-recorded lightning talks and presentations.
The second part of NARM, in order to provide an opportunity for face-to-face networking and learning, will be a two-day in-person professional development (PD) experience, from 07-08 November. This part of the NARM will be held in four locations around the country, and will be hosted by GLOBE partnerships. The PD sessions will be in-person, and will be based on different topics – with participants choosing which one to attend.

NARM GLOBE Exchange is Back!
GLOBE Exchange is an opportunity to create a two-minute video to introduce your GLOBE partnership and, NEW THIS YEAR – you don’t have to attend NARM to participate!
Each partnership is invited to contribute a two-minute pre-recorded video using the PowerPoint template. The video will serve to broaden our understanding of your partnership, demonstrate what you’ve accomplished this past year, explain how you’d like to collaborate moving forward, and provide a place for you to share resources with the community.
Individual partnership videos will be collected and assembled into a video montage that will be posted to the GLOBE YouTube channel, shared with the U.S. GLOBE community, and will be the focus of a virtual NARM session.
GLOBE Exchange presentation requirements include:
- The video presentation length is limited to two minutes.
- A transcript of the video presentation.
- Two-slide PowerPoint (PPT) from template
- Videos should include the PPT slides, and the presenter should be in the video, if possible (picture in picture).
Slide section descriptions:
- First slide: For the first slide, please provide partnership name, State, partnership members and contact information, a *brief* description of your partnership (can include affinity groups you work with);
- Second slide: For the second slide, please provide:
- ways your partnership supports student research and teacher professional development (financially or otherwise supporting students in entering research projects in the GLOBE International Virtual Science Symposium, the U.S. SRS, or a GLOBE Learning Expedition, holding teacher trainings, mentoring, direct programming, etc.);
- your biggest accomplishment (a highlight you’d like community members to remember);
- areas of expertise/collaboration interests (what you are interested in, looking for support with, or how you’d like to collaborate with others; this could include: In-service professional development, programming for students, Elementary GLOBE, pre-service teachers, GLOBE in undergraduate classrooms, engineering, education research, science research, citizen science, informal science, etc.); and
- resources (key resources you’d like community members to know about).
Submission: Please upload your video, transcript, and PowerPoint slides here by 14 October 2022.
