2023 GLOBE Annual Meeting Update – Registration Fees Announced
The 2023 GLOBE Annual Meeting will take form 15-21 July 2023. It will take place at the Curtis Hotel, located in downtown Denver, Colorado, USA.
This year, after a three-year gap, the meeting will be an in-person event. The theme of the meeting is, ""GLOBE Science Opens Global Benefits," and the focus will be on bringing people together to engage, collaborate, and connect. Keynote speeches and some of the plenary sessions will be streamed live, and will be freely accessible, for the whole GLOBE community.
The registration cost for in-person attendance at the annual meeting will be $620 USD ("Early-Bird" rate), or $660 USD (regular price). This fee includes entry to all meeting sessions at the Curtis Hotel, off-site ‘Learning about Protocols’ sessions, an opening reception, selected catering on meeting days, and a closing dinner.
Please note that the registration fee does not include travel to the meeting or accommodation in Denver, Colorado. Inflation has drastically increased the costs of organizing the annual meeting since the last in-person event in 2019. The GLOBE Implementation Office (GIO) acknowledges that attending this event is a significant investment for members of the GLOBE community and GIO is working diligently to plan an inspiring and informative event. There is a limit of 350 participants, so please mark the date in your calendars.

Theme Strands
Meeting participants will explore several strands of "Open Science," including:
- In and Beyond Classrooms: How educators and students use GLOBE data in classrooms, and how that data can lead to change outside of schools.
- Mobilizing Beyond Borders: A focus on the diversity of the GLOBE community, exploring how such diversity benefits both the research and GLOBE members.
- Mapping Beyond Dots: Discover how researchers can tell a story through their data and visualizations.
- Benefits for the Environment and Society: Examine how connections built among members and groups outside of GLOBE can change both the research and the researchers themselves.
