GLOBE Partners Present at Science Summit at United Nations General Assembly
The International Science Council (ISC) and its partners will organize the 9th edition of the Science Summit around the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78) from 12-29 September 2023. The GLOBE Program will be represented for the second consecutive year, with presentations by GLOBE community members: Siham Salman, Elena Sparrow, and moderated by Michael Jabot and Larisa Schelkin.
This virtual presentation will cover topics regarding GLOBE implementation in various regions of the world, including: citizen science, health, life on land, collaboration, and education. These topics (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) were adopted by the UN as a call to action for the betterment of people and the planet; The GLOBE Program – by fostering and promoting scientific learning and education – demonstrates these SDGs in use throughout the world with teacher and student programs, workshops, citizen science activities, and more.
During the presentation, panelists will present their topic, tying in the use of GLOBE in their countries and how GLOBE helps meet their country’s SDGs.
Those wanting to view the presentation may do so via online streaming, but registration (free) is required for those wishing to join and participate in sessions. Information on the GLOBE virtual presentation can be found here.
