GLOBE Croatia: GLOBE Educator and Students Bring GLOBE to Kindergarten
Kindergarten students working in groups with their teachers
GLOBE is a program that involves students of most ages, but the youngest students, depending on their location, often have to wait years before exploring the various scientific protocols. In Croatia, a group of secondary school students and their teacher, Olivera Tadic, have been bringing GLOBE observations to these youngest of learners. The students from Mate Blažine Labin secondary school are working with a kindergarten class at Pjerina Verbanac Labin school to determine which GLOBE activities kindergarteners can actively participate in, whether the youngest are interested in such work, and whether educators of these young learners are interested in teaching the GLOBE Program on a more regular basis.
The secondary students created a workbook to help kindergarten teachers in their daily work on STEM activities. The workbook contains translations of some Elementary GLOBE modules and the secondary students’ ideas for activities that might be interesting for little ones.

Field work: Taking a water sample from a stream
The secondary students were excited to confirm that kindergarteners liked the GLOBE activities and adopted the content like "sponges absorb water." Although the secondary students are now graduates, the younger members of the GLOBE team will continue this collaboration.
The secondary school students presented “For Our Kindergartners” with some of the kindergarten students at the recent "The Best of GLOBE Europe & Eurasia 2025," a virtual event celebrating student research and community impact and we were awarded educational materials and tools.
