GLOBE's Soil Protocol Captivates Students in Oman
Professor Yusra Al-Dhawi at the Al-Thabiti Basic Education
School (Oman) implemented a workshop aimed at introducing students to
the theoretical and practical aspects of The GLOBE Program's Soil
Protocol. During this workshop, the properties of a soil sample, such
as its temperature, were discussed. Students then were trained on the
practical application of the Protocol to discover these properties
represented: soil structure, soil consistency and cohesion, soil
color, amount of roots present, number of rocks present, amount of
calcium carbonate and soil texture.
This workshop took place at the school's science laboratory, where the focus was to introduce GLOBE to female students.
