GLOBE Used in Oman Scientific Exploration Center Teacher Workshop
A GLOBE training was recently held at a Scientific Exploration Center in the North Al Sharqiya sector of Oman. The GLOBE Program, which is implemented by North Al Sharqiyah Educational School, is used in schools for training, conducting workshops and student research.
A number of educators, academics and researchers in the environmental field participated in this workshop. Participants were welcomed by Dr. Ishaq Al-Jabri, who supervises GLOBE activities in North Al Sharqiya, and then a workshop was held on how to enter data into the site as well as training teachers on using GLOBE’s app (GLOBE Observer) and other tools. After that, Yousra Al-Dawy explained how to introduce the protocol measurement into the GLOBE site.
In all, the participants were trained on:
- entering data into Globe protocols
- using GLOBE devices (apps and web) and tools
- environmental research (using GLOBE Protocols)
