September Tech Update
Sep 03, 2024
We have been working through a large number of system and security upgrades over the past month while implementing some new features to make your GLOBE experience better.
- A new eTraining support area was just delivered to make it easier to understand what is required to become eTrained and to track your progress. We hope it will be easier for everyone to complete their eTraining as they work to become GLOBE protocol certified.
- For all users of Email Data Entry (EMDE), we have moved to a new email address. Please send all new data to data@nasaglobe.org. If you’d like to practice sending data, please send practice data to practicedata@nasaglobe.org.
- If you have a Davis weather station that was setup more than 2 years ago, you are probably using the “old way” of sending data to GLOBE, which also uses EMDE. Please change your Davis station to use the “new way,” which involves the Davis WeatherLink site. For more information on how to set up your Davis station to send data to GLOBE, read this blog post.
- For the GLOBE Observer app, we expect to deliver some changes in mid-September that will allow you to select the genus/species of trees you are observing and send them to GLOBE. We will also be updating the support for SciStarter users, allowing you to resume tracking your measurements in SciStarter in addition to GLOBE.
- Work is progressing on adding the Pedosphere protocols to GLOBE Observer. This should take a few months, but we’ll let you know as soon as they are posted.
As always – let us know about how the changes are working for you,
