Asia-Pacific "Soil in Schools" Campaign - Set to Inspire Environmental Stewardship Among Students

The campaign is structured around five key activities:

  1. Webinar Series (September 3rd, 5th, 10th, and 12th): Expert-led sessions will cover topics such as soil composition, the importance of soil in ecosystems, soil temperature, and moisture's role in plant growth.

  2. Soil Observation (September 9th - 20th): Students will conduct soil investigations on their school premises, analyzing various factors such as composition, texture, temperature, and structure.

  3. GLOBE Data Upload (September 18th - 30th): Participants will upload their findings using the GLOBE Data Entry App or Desktop Forms, contributing valuable data on soil temperature, moisture levels, and more.

  4. Data Analysis (October 1st - 10th): Students will analyze the collected data, identifying trends and differences between various locations within their school premises with the guidance of teachers and mentors.

  5. Report Findings: Students will create research projects based on their data analysis, presenting their findings through graphs, charts, and compelling narratives to promote environmental awareness and action.

This campaign is an excellent opportunity for students to develop practical skills in environmental science while fostering a sense of responsibility towards sustainable practices. We encourage schools across the Asia-Pacific region to participate and make a meaningful impact on the future of our planet.
