2025 U.S. Partner Forum Updates: Thank yous and Welcomes
The GLOBE U.S. Partner Forum consists of GLOBE Partnership representatives from the six regions in the United States, plus a NASA representative and one "at-large." Partners are nominated and serve a term length of up to 3 years.
A heartfelt “thank you” to Peder Nelson
The U.S. Partner Forum would like to thank Peder Nelson for his service to the GLOBE community. He recently completed his term for the Northwest U.S. Region. Peder’s input and leadership will be missed!
Welcoming Cheryl Williams as the Northwest Region representative
Cheryl
Williams, with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Partnership, is
the new Northwest Region U.S. Partner Forum representative. After 27
years of wrangling teenagers in public school science classrooms,
Cheryl Williams has retired—though she prefers to call it an
“educational evolution.” She now works part-time for a virtual school,
facilitating courses and writing curriculum. With a master’s in
science education and a passion for making science engaging, Cheryl
has taught a variety of courses, but her favorites are Oceanography
and Environmental Science. She has spent more than 25 years as a GLOBE
teacher and trainer, specializing in phenology, land cover, and
microplastics. Additionally, she serves on the council for Polar
Educators International, helping to advance polar science education.
Cheryl believes that the best science educators are lifelong learners,
and she’s eager to support and inspire the next generation of science
educators. We look forward to Cheryl helping to wrangle Northwest
region Partners!
