The award is accompanied by a $10,000 grant to an organization
of the recipient’s choosing consistent with the objectives of YLACES.
Dr. Sparrow chose Fostering
Science, a program in Alaska that provides free science camp to
foster youth who face obstacles in participating in science education experiences.
