2018 - Elementary GLOBE Air Quality Module

Air Quality Module

After taking a closer look at this week's news photos, the GLOBE kids notice how different the sky looks from day to day. In this story, students will investigate how air pollution affects our atmosphere's color and impacts our health.

By the end of this module, students will be able to describe how atmospheric conditions alter the sky's color, create models to show how aerosols influence visibility, and use prisms to explore different light properties.

Cover of the book “What’s Up in the Atmosphere? Exploring Colors in the Sky.” Two girls and one boy are on the grass outside, with a purple and orange sky behind them. Below the names of the authors, there is the Elementary GLOBE logo.
