Trees are beautiful. They awaken from their winter sleep each spring. Observe your tree from buds to leaves and share your findings in the GLOBE database, contributing to a global understanding of our environment. Discover the vital role trees play in the carbon cycle and in cooling our cities.

How to start?

Choose one of the 7 species that GLOBE students across Europe follow in spring:
Hazel, Fig, Lime, Oak, Sour Cherry, Birch, Beech.

 


 

What else can you do?

In the year 2025, the GLOBE Program turns 30 Years. To celebrate this milestone, the year-long "30 Years of GLOBE Campaign"  encourages participants, to consider what environmental changes are emerging in their local ecosystems through collecting and analyzing environmental data via GLOBE protocols exploring GLOBE learning activities and using GLOBE databases. 

By your active participation in the 2025 Spring Tree (Phenology) Campaign you can earn a "30 Years of GLOBE Badge". All you need to do is:

🤝 2025 Spring Collaboration

Alongside learning about phenology, your students will develop key 21st-century skills, such as international communication and teamwork.

How to start a collaboration?

Go to the campaign discussion forum and invite partners to collaborate by post. Wait for a post to reach other schools registered on the forum and get ready for new partnerships.

After finding a partner school, what can members do?

  • Regularly exchange data and pictures by email
  • Plan a call and discuss their experience and results
  • Plan a student research project together
