The mission of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) Center for Water Quality is to promote research, teaching and extension/outreach activities devoted to local and regional water quality and water resource issues. Current research of the Center focuses on coastal and forested wetlands and coastal watershed studies. The Center conducts a two-week summer program for middle and high school teachers focused on coastal conservation and priorities of the Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA). The Center will provide hands-on experiential watershed-based learning opportunities for middle and high school students and teachers.
