GLOBE Is Part of the NASA International Space Apps Challenge!
The GLOBE Protocol Games, part of the NASA Space Apps Challenge, asks students to create a game that integrates GLOBE protocols to help players develop awareness of one or more local or global environmental topics (e.g., urbanization, water pollution, drought), investigate their local communities using GLOBE protocols, or learn scientific principles.  >>

John Francis, Planetwalker, in South Africa Spreading the Word about GLOBE and Kindness
Dr. John Francis is currently walking across South Africa to promote environmental awareness and kindness, while engaging communities in environmental data collection with GLOBE Africa. Joined by UCAR’s John Ristvey in September, they have taken GLOBE observations along the journey from Plettenberg Bay to Rietbron. 2024 Europe and Eurasia Autumn Tree (Phenology) Campaign Has Begun
As autumn arrives in the Northern Hemisphere, trees across Europe and Eurasia burst into vibrant shades of yellow and red, preparing for their winter rest. Their leaves gradually change color and fall in a process known as green-down. But when does this happen in different parts of the region? Students participating in the Autumn Tree (Phenology) Campaign have the chance to find out.  >>

Latin America and Caribbean Seminar Series on the 2024 Annual Eclipse Wraps Up
The Latin American and Caribbean RCO, along with support from various LAC country leadership, just completed a series of seminars on the 2024 Annular Eclipse. The goal was to train the community, especially educators, on various aspects of the annular eclipse, preparing for the event that will take place on 2 October. Seminar recordings are available for viewing.  >>

Country Collaboration Leads to Lithuania Educator Training
The GLOBE training for educators in Lithuania took place at ŽagarÄ— Regional Park on 9–11 September 2024. The training covered practical methods for environmental research, equipping educators with skills to engage students in scientific projects. Twenty-three educators from various Lithuanian schools learned methods for atmospheric, hydrological, soil, and biological observations.  >>
