Reunión Regional 2024 de GLOBE LAC

La Reunión Regional de GLOBE LAC se llevará a cabo del 22 al 24 de octubre en el Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando, en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. Durante los días 23 y 24, se realizará un taller de capacitación para Coordinadores de País sobre el Bundle de Mosquitos. Pueden acceder a la agenda preliminar de la reunión haciendo click aquí.
El evento contará con la destacada presencia de
- Natalia Bermúdez, Asociada Interamericana de NASA, especializada en Capacitación en la División de Acción de la Tierra. Tiene una maestría en Ciencia de la Información Geográfica y una licenciatura en Gestión Ambiental.
- Rusty Low, científica especializada en el cambio climático. Para ayudar a las personas a entender su impacto, utiliza los mosquitos como ejemplo, ya que una picadura es un recordatorio tangible de cómo el cambio climático afecta nuestras vidas. Rusty trabaja con el equipo de GLOBE Observer Mosquito Habitat Mapper y es científica de GLOBE desde 2001.
Además, los días 25 y 26 se llevará a cabo un taller presencial para docentes de República Dominicana, centrado en los protocolos de Biósfera y Atmósfera, con la participación de 80 docentes inscritos.
The GLOBE LAC Regional Meeting will take place from October 22 to 24 at the Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The event will feature the distinguished presence of:
- Natalia Bermúdez, Inter-American Associate at NASA, specializing in Capacity Building within the Earth Action Division. She holds a master's degree in Geographic Information Science and a bachelor's degree in Environmental Management.
- Rusty Low, a scientist specializing in climate change. To help people understand its impact, she uses mosquitoes as an example, as a bite is a tangible reminder of how climate change affects our lives. Rusty works with the GLOBE Observer Mosquito Habitat Mapper team and has been a scientist with GLOBE since 2001.
Additionally, on the 25th and 26th, there will be an in-person workshop for teachers from the Dominican Republic, focusing on the Biosphere and Atmosphere protocols, with the participation of 80 registered teachers.
