Ciencia y arte en el cielo de LAC: Finalizó el Concurso Dibuja tu Nube | Science and Art in the LAC Sky: The “Draw Your Cloud” Contest Has Concluded

Entre el 1° de marzo y el 15 de abril se desarrolló
el concurso “Dibuja tu Nube”, organizado en el marco
de la campaña “Árboles dentro de LAC”. Esta actividad
formó parte del cierre del lanzamiento del tercer año
de la campaña, consolidando el compromiso de la comunidad educativa
con la ciencia ciudadana y la observación del ambiente.
La propuesta invitó a estudiantes de entre 6 y 19
años a observar el cielo, tomar mediciones de nubes con la
app GLOBE Observer y luego plasmar su experiencia a
través del dibujo.
Se recibieron 160 dibujos de estudiantes de
siete países de América Latina: Argentina,
Paraguay, Guatemala, Brasil, Ecuador, Perú y Uruguay. La
participación se organizó en tres categorías por
edad, lo que permitió valorar la creatividad y la observación
científica de niños, niñas y adolescentes de diferentes niveles.
El certamen fue diseñado para promover la inclusión y la
participación regional, por lo que las bases fueron publicadas en
español, inglés y portugués. Además, se extendió una semana más, a
solicitud de varios docentes que apoyaron activamente a sus
estudiantes en el proceso. Para facilitar la participación de toda
la comunidad GLOBE en América Latina y el Caribe, compartimos
instructivos detallados en los tres idiomas.
Además, participaron
al menos 16 docentes
, quienes promovieron el trabajo en el aula y guiaron
a sus estudiantes en el proceso.
Los dibujos están siendo evaluados por un jurado
internacional, y los resultados serán anunciados
próximamente. Agradecemos y celebramos el entusiasmo de cada
participante, así como el compromiso de los educadores que hicieron
posible esta experiencia de ciencia, arte y exploración del cielo.
From March 1 to April 15, the “Draw Your
Cloud” contest was held as part of the “Trees within
LAC” campaign. This initiative marked the conclusion
of the campaign’s third-year launch, reinforcing the
region’s commitment to citizen science and environmental observation.
The contest invited students aged 6 to 19 to observe
the sky, record cloud data using the GLOBE Observer
app, and express their experience through drawing.
A total of 160 drawings were submitted by students
from seven Latin American countries:
Argentina, Paraguay, Guatemala, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and
Uruguay. The submissions were divided into three
age-based categories, allowing the creativity and
scientific observation skills of children and youth to shine.
The contest was designed to promote inclusion and
regional participation, which is why the guidelines
were published in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Additionally, it
was extended for one more week at the request of several teachers who
actively supported their students throughout the process. To
facilitate the participation of the entire GLOBE community in Latin
America and the Caribbean, we shared detailed instructions in
all three languages.
At least 16 educators participated in the
initiative, guiding and encouraging their students throughout the process.
The artworks are currently being evaluated by an
international jury, and the results will be
announced soon. We thank all the students and teachers for their
enthusiasm and dedication, and for making this blend of science, art,
and cloud-gazing a meaningful and collaborative experience.
