PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

SUMMER COURSE

WORKSHOPS

The Boston University team runs two annual summer professional development workshops to support the teachers that we partner with in the Providence RI public school system. The goals and target audience of each workshop are different:

The first workshop is explicitly for the "Master" teachers who have partnered with us in the past and have implemented the GLOBE curriculum in their classroom. The main goal is to listen and learn about the school year that has finished and improve on (a) our guidance and supporting role in implementing GLOBE and NASA assets, (b) sharing lessons learned amongst the teachers, and (c) continue to develop the learning community.

The second workshop seeks a larger audience that includes all returning teachers and any new teachers who have been recruited to adopt GLOBE into their classroom and curriculum. This week-long workshop includes an introduction to GLOBE, basic science coverage talks by our BU faculty team, protocol teaching and practice, and curriculum development.
