Earth Day Celebrations Help Mark the 20th Anniversary of The GLOBE Program
Earth Day 2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of The GLOBE Program! Since its inception on Earth Day 1995, 112 countries have participated in The GLOBE Program. Thanks to the efforts of the worldwide GLOBE community, there are more than 21,000 GLOBE-trained teachers representing over 28,000 schools around the world. In addition, over 10 million students have participated in GLOBE – contributing more than 128 million measurements to the GLOBE database for use in their inquiry-based science projects.
This year, the international GLOBE Community is celebrating 20 years of bringing together students, teachers and scientists (through the GLOBE Schools Network) in support of student learning and research. Numerous celebrations for this special anniversary are going to be taking place around the planet – join in and help us celebrate!
