The Student Experience at the 2024 GLOBE Annual Meeting
The 2024 GLOBE Annual Meeting Student Experience brought together 39 students from 10 countries, representing all six GLOBE regions, for 4 days of experiential learning about Earth systems science and climate resilience at SUNY Fredonia in Western New York, USA.

GLOBE Observer Connect: Taking GLOBE to Sea - A Live Chat with GLOBE Educator Christi Buffington and Students
Join us on 29 August at 8 pm ET (30 August 0:00 UTC) for a live conversation with educator Christi Buffington and some of the students who sailed a tall ship from Japan to Palau. While onboard, they used GLOBE protocols, including GLOBE Observer clouds, to track atmospheric and water conditions.

The State of Trees – August 2024. Continuing to Make Sense of the Land Cover and Tree Height Observations
On 20 August at 1:00 pm ET (17:00 UTC; 19:00 CET), GLOBE staff will discuss the importance of taking GLOBE ground-based land cover and tree height observations and making comparisons to the space-based NASA satellite data. They will showcase, and reinforce, the importance and ease of data analysis using online data tools.

The seventh of the NASA “GPM 10-in-10” anniversary webinars will take place on 1 August at 8:00 pm ET [2 August, 00:00 UTC] and will focus on “data.” Join this webinar to find out how and why we use Earth-observing satellites to collect data, where you can access these free and openly sourced data, and how various NASA-sponsored programs are helping make data understandable and accessible to everyone!

July Tech Update: New Features and Improvements to GLOBE Systems
A large number of system and security upgrades have been made to GLOBE tech over the past month along with the addition of some new features on the horizon. The GLOBE Observer app has been updated, a new eTraining support area is in progress, and changes are being made to the The new desktop data entry forms.

GLOBE and Natural Inquirer Crosswalk Project: Stipends Available for U.S. Educators
Educators and pre-service teachers in the United States can earn money this summer by contributing to the GLOBE and Natural Inquirer Crosswalk Project. Stipends of $150 are available for contributions that show connections between the two programs.

North America Phenology Campaign: Register Now for Fall 2024
The North America Phenology Campaign focuses on monitoring and reporting plant phenology data to help validate the timing of the plant growing season. In this campaign, students will observe and report plant green-down, have opportunities to meet scientists, and collaborate with other students.
