Ylliass Destin Lawani, GLOBE Country Coordinator from Benin, Accepted into UNITAR Fellowship
Congratulations to Ylliass Destin Lawani, GLOBE Country Coordinator from Benin, who has been accepted into the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Global Diplomacy Fellowship program.
Being accepted as a UNITAR Global Diplomacy Fellow during the UN General Assembly is a significant recognition and honor—especially this year, as the UN General Assembly is hosting the Summit for the Future. This unique session focuses on tackling critical global challenges, including climate change, technology governance, and sustainable development. It seeks to reimagine and strengthen multilateralism for a rapidly changing world, making Ylliass’s Fellowship all the more timely and impactful.
The Summit for the Future will also initiate the development of a new global strategy for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as the current plan ends in 2030, and strategic planning must begin now to ensure continued progress.
Thank you to Larisa Schelkin, GIO UN and SDG Consultant, who served as a mentor and assisted Ylliass in applying to the Fellowship.
