2025 Virtual U.S. GLOBE Student Research Symposium
Event Time: 12:00 pm ET - 2:00 pm ET
Location: Virtual
Educators, students, U.S. Partners, scientists, and alumni from the United States are invited to gather and discuss GLOBE student research projects at the Virtual Student Research Symposium (SRS). This event will include presentations of student research and an opportunity to meet and talk with scientists, STEM professionals, and peers.
Register here by April 4, 2025! Students do not need to register this year.

Event Format
The event will take place virtually each day May 5–9 (for students grades 9–12) and May 12–16 (for students grades 5–8) from 12–2 p.m. ET. A session for K–4 students will be added depending on interest.
Educators and students may attend multiple sessions over the week, but are only required to attend the day they are presenting.
To help facilitate student engagement in a virtual environment, all
registered educators will receive a student engagement toolkit
containing materials for several hands-on activities.
Sample Agenda
The following is a sample of what each day of the 2025 SRS will look like. The first and last day of each week will include an opening and closing ceremony respectively in place of the STEM career panel.
- 12–12:30 p.m. ET: STEM career panel
- 12:30–1:15 p.m. ET: Presentation sessions (concurrent sessions)
- 1:15–2 p.m. ET: Research deep dive with a STEM professional and peers (concurrent sessions)
Research Projects
Student projects will be presented in a recorded video presentation format.
- An optional presentation template will be provided to registered teams.
- There is a limit of three video presentation submissions per educator.
- Presentations can be made by a single student or by a team of students.
All projects must use GLOBE protocols or GLOBE data, and data collected should be entered in the GLOBE Database.
Tech Requirements

The event will take place on Zoom. Please ensure you have the latest version of Zoom downloaded, or the ability to access Zoom through a browser.

A microphone will expand the ability to interact through discussions. A camera is recommended but not necessary.
Parent/Guardian Policy
The Student Research Symposia are designed as student events. Parents/guardians are not invited to the event this year.
