North Carolina Educators Study Climate and the Earth as a System Using GLOBE
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) invited area educators to campus on 17 February 2024 to participate in a workshop celebrating the GLOBE Program’s Year of Climate and Carbon. GLOBE is Adopted at Two National Estuarine Research Reserves in California
The Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, a GLOBE Partnership, has been collaborating with the San Francisco National Estuarine Research Reserve for three years. The National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) system is a partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) and coastal states, and supports the interconnectedness of people and estuary ecosystems.  >>

Summer Camp Focused on Sustainability and Sustainable Development Goals with GLOBE
This summer, one teacher and eight students from the Health Sciences and Technology Academy (HSTA) at West Virginia University (WVU) participated in a week-long camp in Morgantown, West Virginia, that focused on learning about The GLOBE Program, using GLOBE activities to take measurements, and sharing and discussing findings. The students who participated in this GLOBE summer camp will become mentors to middle school programs, to share what they learned and to lead GLOBE activities.   >>

GLOBE's North American Regional Meeting at Badlands National Park
The South Dakota Discovery Center hosted the in-person GLOBE North American Regional Meeting (NARM) 21-23 May in Badlands National Park. This was not your usual NARM, as the entire event was an immersive field experience.  >>

2024 GLOBE Annual Meeting Highlights: U.S. Partners
The 2024 GLOBE Annual Meeting was chock full of presentations, informal gatherings, and discussions. Nearly 30 U.S. GLOBE Partners and educators presented about their GLOBE work and led sessions to help others learn about protocols.  >>

New Hampshire Students Help Create the Earth Around Us Water Tent
On June 6, a cheer went up through the crowd that gathered to witness the unveiling of the Water Tent, part of the Earth Around Us tent program produced by the New Hampshire GLOBE Program based at the Leitzel Center at the University of New Hampshire. The crowd comprised nearly 75 Kindergarten through grade 5 students and their teachers at the Maple Street Magnet School in Rochester, N.H.  >>

“Satellites and Remote Sensing” NARM Summary
The North American Regional Meeting (NARM) held in Palmyra, New Jersey, on 5 and 6 March, 2024, brought together stakeholders from various sectors whose focus or work is directly related to satellites and/or remote sensing. Together they learned and discussed opportunities to enhance the GLOBE Program. Participants included educators, scientists, policy makers, and students from around the Northeast.  >>
