GLOBE focuses on promoting scientific literacy and building connections between people passionate about the environment. It has three primary goals:

1) Increasing environmental awareness ;

2) Contributing to increased scientific understanding of the Earth ;

3) Supporting improved student achievement in science and mathematics.

By participating in GLOBE, students, researchers and lifelong learners can connect with the program’s global community.

The program briefly existed in Chad following a bilateral agreement signed in 1995 between the US and Chadian government.

The US Embassy who is a key partner of this program sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), assured to bring to the new team institutional support for the reactivation of the program.

The meeting ended with both sides satisfied over productive discussions to the advantage of GLOBE-Chad.
