Welcome
A sustainable future begins at every EcoSchool
Getting involved with the EcoSchools U.S. program is a fantastic way
to demonstrate commitment to a sustainable future for students,
educators, administrators, and the community on a local scale.
Students join a global movement of over 19 million environmental
leaders who are engaging in project-based and place-based learning to
explore climate, biodiversity, and community-centered solutions to the
climate crisis, advocating for climate justice, developing STEAM
skills, making way for life and world-changing careers, and forming
authentic partnerships within and outside school communities.
Schools have the opportunity to act as leaders for their schools by
promoting the EcoSchools U.S. program as a benchmark for environmental
learning and action while employing certification standards modeled
after the international Eco-Schools program that connects
directly to the UN
Sustainable Development Goals.
EcoSchools U.S. is a proud partner of The GLOBE Program,
working together to provide high-quality STEM and environment and
place-based experiences to schools. Â

About the National Wildlife Federation
Wildlife's ability to survive the challenges of the 21st century is
becoming outpaced by the events transforming our world. Climate
change, habitat loss, and people becoming more disconnected from
nature than past generations are converging on a dangerous path for
our planet. The National Wildlife Federation has led wildlife and
habitat protection and conservation for over eight decades.
Over the past forty years, the National Wildlife Federation
has been a leader in environment-based education and has brought the
joy and wonder of the natural world to students and teachers around
the world. Our work for youth includes Ranger Rick and
Ranger Rick Jr. publications, EcoSchools U.S., Learning About Forests
and Ecosystems, Certified Schoolyard Habitats, and Resilient Schools
and Communities (RiSC).Â
