GLOBE Cloud Protocol Featuring NASA Satellite Comparison
Clouds are powerful agents of global change. They affect the overall temperature or energy balance of the Earth and play a large role in controlling the planet's long-term climate. NASA has various satellites orbiting the Earth collecting clouds and Earth’s energy data, but we still don’t capture the full story.
Your ground observations complement what satellites cannot see, like, cloud bases, ground cover, and multiple cloud layers. NASA, in collaboration with the GLOBE Program, invites YOU to submit ground cloud observations. The GLOBE clouds team at NASA Langley Research Center will send you a summary email comparing YOUR observations with satellite data.
