The density box was new to most teachers at the workshop held on December 7 at Xavier University of New Orleans. I encourage this activity when teaching weather to reinforce the concept of density. Caption  

I led a teacher workshop at Xavier University of Louisiana on the new GLOBE Weather Curriculum. Ten outstanding interns are working with me this summer to provide nature time for K-2nd graders at four camps in our city. Each team spends an hour each day at one of the camps in groups ranging in number from 10 to 20 for an hour outside while sitting on a tarp under a tree or pavilion.
