The Tennessee State University (TSU) GLOBE Partnership was established by Dr. David A. Padgett in 2001.  Our primary mission has been introducing GLOBE to students and teachers from populations underrepresented in the STEM disciplines. Prior to joining the GLOBE Mission Earth project, we certified dozens of in-service teachers in the Atmosphere Protocols.  Another of our major objectives is to expose pre-service teachers to GLOBE.  Tennessee State University is currently the most prolific producer of teachers from among the 100+ Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  Dr. Padgett is developing a replicable model for certifying pre-service teachers in GLOBE protocols, including near peer service learning outreach engagement with K-12 students.
