Participate in the GLOBE Data Challenge for Students!
To earn the “I am a Data Scientist” badge highlighted for the
2025
International Virtual Science Symposium (IVSS) theme, students
should include analysis of data downloaded from the GLOBE database as
well as their own data sources, if new data is collected. Interested
in earning the “I am a Data Scientist” badge but not sure how to plan
a project using data from the GLOBE database? Get started using the
resources and challenges below!
This ADAT walkthrough showcases how to access and analyze data from 9 November 2024 when Hurricane Milton, a Category 3 storm, made landfall in the panhandle of Florida, USA. As an additional challenge, students can follow along with this blog post to explore climate change over 20 years of GLOBE’s history using GLOBE air temperature data.
Students must earn the “I am a Data Scientist” badge to qualify for entry into the Earth Day stipend drawing. Visit the IVSS badges page to learn more.
