GLOBE Trainers Process - Trainers
GLOBE Trainers
In order to grow the capacity of the GLOBE community, the GLOBE Program has a long history of certifying new Trainers and Mentor Trainers. As a result of these efforts, GLOBE has created a vibrant and capable network of members equipped with the skills necessary to accomplish our mission and goals.
During the certification process, it is crucial for the Trainers leading our workshops to be knowledgeable in the GLOBE Program. This includes maintaining a firm grasp of our protocols, procedures, collected/recorded data quality and best practices for educators implementing GLOBE in their own educational settings.
Types of GLOBE Trainers
GLOBE Trainers serve as not only educators, but also in supporting roles for educators implementing GLOBE in their educational environments. This support structure helps ensure that GLOBE's protocols and processes are correctly followed in the classroom.
There are currently two different types of certified trainers: GLOBE Trainers and GLOBE Mentor Trainers. Note: Only GLOBE educators who have been active for two years can apply to become a trainer.
To learn more about how each role functions within the GLOBE Program, review the Trainer Definitions below:

Only active Trainers for 2 years minimum with a passion for serving the GLOBE community by actively mentoring, observing and assessing Candidate Trainers should seek this designation.
Additionally, Mentor Trainers should possess the scientific capacity necessary to answer questions about GLOBE's protocols, encourage the use of GLOBE and other Earth system science resources, and provide ready support for Candidate Trainers to become confident in conducting their own GLOBE Trainings.
