Getting Started with Your Student Research and Accessing GLOBE Protocol Data - Trees around the GLOBE
Getting Started with Your Student Research
Year 7 will have a similar, yet enhanced feel with a combination of the science, student research, the use of online tools for data analysis, and the collaboration of GLOBE campaigns. Below, you can learn about
You can access and visualize the GLOBE data via the GLOBE Visualization Tool. The campaign team members have created several "How-To" videos showcasing just how easy it is to look at the data. This data can be used for student research projects. Check out the videos on the Quick Tutorials on How to Access Data on the GLOBE Visualization (GLOBE Vis) System page.

Looking at GLOBE Land Cover and Tree Height for Student Research
Year 7 of the campaign will continue to highlight 2 major online tools: The Global Forest Canopy Height Tool and Global Land Cover Viewer Tool! These tools allow you to look at global to regional to local land cover and tree height data and can be used to supplement your GLOBE student research projects.
We have also developed 127 GLOBE country land cover maps (with tree height statistics) to help you in your research. You can find them at the links below:
Land Cover (with Tree Height Statistics) Map for all 126 GLOBE Program countries
Land Cover (with Tree Height Statistics) Map for GLOBE Asia and Pacific Region (19 countries)
Land Cover (with Tree Height Statistics) Map for GLOBE Africa Region (27 countries)
Land Cover (with Tree Height Statistics) Map for GLOBE Europe and Eurasia Region (45 countries)
Land Cover (with Tree Height Statistics) Map for GLOBE North America Region (2 countries)
