UNGA Science Summit

UNGA Science Summit

The Science Summit during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is a premier global event that brings together leaders, scientists, policymakers, and innovators to tackle critical scientific and technological challenges.

Originating from the Global Science Summit hosted by the European Parliament in 2013, the event later moved to the UN General Assembly in NYC and transitioned online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Summit highlights cutting-edge research, fosters international collaboration, and addresses topics aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN Summit of the Future. Key areas include climate action, One Health, biodiversity, AI, and sustainable energy.

By bridging the gap between science and policy, the Summit ensures that scientific advancements inform global policies and strategies. It provides a platform for dynamic discussions, idea exchange, and actionable solutions to advance the SDGs and shape the future of science in global governance.

UNGA Science Summit Template

In order to aid GLOBE community members in presenting how SDGs are being met in their own countries, The GLOBE Implementation Office (GIO) collaborated with its regional representatives to develop the UNGA Science Summit Template. If you plan to make a presentation about SDGs and GLOBE in your country, please email the GLOBE International Coordinator for a copy of the template. Along with the template request, please include details on the presentation you are creating with the template.
