Guidelines for SATELLITES Inquiry-based Research Project
-
The students' project must use at least one data sources. It could be data they collected or it could be data pulled from a data source such as the GLOBE website http://www.globe.gov , satellite imagery including Landsat, NASA NEO http://neo.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/Search.html, even Google Earth.
-
Each project must use geospatial technology in some way. Some examples include:
-
Remote sensing –satellite image (from Google Earth, Landsat, or NEO) or aerial photograph.
-
GPS coordinates
-
GIS – spatial analysis or map of observation locations.
-
-
Each project should be associated with climate change, alternative energy or water quality in some way.
-
Project teams will consist of between 1 and 3 students working on one project.
-
Don't forget the students' research journal.
