U.S. Partner Forum Updates
Special Thanks to Dr. Richard Wagner and Dr. Michael Jabot
The U.S. Partner Forum would like to thank Richard Wagner and Michael Jabot for their service to the GLOBE community. They each recently completed their terms on the Forum for the Southwest U.S. Region (Richard Wagner) and the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic U.S. Region (Michael Jabot).
The Southwest Region appreciates the work that Richard has put into supporting GLOBE. In addition to his service on the Forum, he is the co-coordinator of the GLOBE Partnership at Metropolitan State University of Denver. He has been instrumental in supporting GLOBE including hosting the GLOBE Student Research Symposium.
The Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region thanks Michael Jabot for his work to showcase GLOBE within and beyond the Region. In addition to his service on the Forum, he is the coordinator of the GLOBE Partnership at the Institute for Research in Science Teaching (N.Y.). He has been instrumental in supporting GLOBE, including participating in the GLOBE & United Nations General Assembly Science Summit.
New Partner Forum Member and Mentor Trainer in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region
Michael Griffith is the new Partner Forum member for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Region. Michael is an Environmental Educator and Watershed Specialist at Berks Nature in Reading, Pa. He is also a new mentor trainer for GLOBE. Berks Nature uses GLOBE for field trips and professional development with teachers, and GLOBE Observer with citizen scientists.
New Partner Forum Member in the Southwest Region
Dr. Michael Odell of the University of Texas at Tyler is the new Southwest Representative on the GLOBE U.S. Partner Forum. He is the co-Director of the UT-Tyler GLOBE Partnership with co-Director Dr. Teresa Kennedy. He serves on the board of the Texas STEM Coalition, an organization that is also a GLOBE Partner. Dr. Odell also works with pre-service teachers and the University Academy Lab Schools to support student research.
