GLOBE Community: Nominations for GLOBE Working Groups Due TODAY (16 November)

Become a member of a GLOBE Working Group! The GIO is seeking nominations for the four Working Groups: Education, Evaluation, Science, and Technology. The purpose of the Working Groups is to enhance the role of U.S. and country partners and GLOBE STEM professionals and educators in shaping the future of The GLOBE Program and supporting the development and implementation of GLOBE worldwide.

Here, by region, are the Working Group (WG) opportunities:

  • Africa Region – Science WG: One at-large representative (open to all regions)
  • Asia and Pacific Region – Education WG: one representative from the region; Science WG: one at-large representative (open to all regions)
  • Europe and Eurasia Region – Science WG: one at-large representative (open to all regions)
  • Latin America and Caribbean Region – Science WG: one at-large representative (open to all regions); Education WG: one representative from the region
  • Near East and South Africa Region – Science WG: one at-large representative (open to all regions); Education WG: one representative from the region; Evaluation WG: one representative from the region
  • North America Region – Science WG: one at-large representative (open to all regions)

Read the Working Group Terms of Reference document, which outlines the purpose and functions of the four Working Groups. If you would like to apply to be considered for a place on a Working Group, please complete the Working Group Candidate Statement and send it, along with a two-page resume, to admin@globe.gov by 16 November 2018. (In order to ensure regional diversity on the Working Groups, some seats are reserved for representatives from a specific region. A community member from any region can fill other seats designated “At-large.”) 

If you would like to nominate someone who you think would be a good candidate for the Science Working Group, please complete the Working Group Nomination Form and send it to admin@globe.gov by 16 November 2018. (Please let the person whom you have nominated know that you are endorsing him/her, and ask him/her to send the Working Group Candidate Statement along with a two-page resume to admin@globe.gov by 16 November 2018 in order to be considered.)
