Join 25 January Urban Heat Island Effect AMS “SCIENCE IS FOR EVERYONE” Presentation: “Too Hot… Too Cold”
The American Meteorological Society (AMS) invites you to join an exciting science education journey. The AMS Board on Outreach and Informal Education (BOIE) presents SCIENCE IS FOR EVERYONE. The event begins on 24 January with a series of evening webinars.
SCIENCE IS FOR EVERYONE is a series of science education opportunities aimed at improving the scientific literacy of all community members across the country. The presentations will include both virtual and hybrid platforms and feature some of the most interesting and innovative professionals in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Urban Heat Island Effect (UHIE) Presentation
On Tuesday, 25 January, at 07:00 p.m. CST, the presentation “Too Hot… Too Cold” will be held. Goldilocks would be disappointed in the temperature extremes some communities are experiencing. In this webinar, the UHIE and the February 2021 Freeze across Texas will be discussed. Speakers: Kevin Czajkowski, University of Toledo, Ohio, USA; James Doss-Gollin, Rice University.
