Join Virtual Meteorological Conference on 28-30 October
In celebration of Jackson State University’s Meteorology Program's 45th Anniversary, the Blue Bengal Meteorology Alumni Association, in partnership with Jackson State University (JSU, in Jackson, Mississippi, USA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will host a virtual conference 28-30 October.
Jackson State's Meteorology Program has been a proud leader in the diversification of the atmospheric science community since its inception. It's past anniversary conferences have resulted in the training and development of students enrolled in the program who've gone on to enjoy successful careers in the atmospheric sciences. This year, the JSU alumni hope to broaden this impact by expanding opportunities to secondary school students, college atmospheric science majors from across the country, and professionals with careers in the atmospheric sciences.
Daily Schedule:
- 28 October: STEM Immersion Day – Middle and high school students from across the world are invited to join JSU’s College of Science, Engineering, and Technology for several engaging virtual science experiments.
- 29 October: Professional Development Day – Alumni, science professionals, and students will work to build skills in key areas related to success as future/current STEM professionals.
- 30 October: Meteorology Career Fair – Professionals across all fields of meteorology and academia will virtually engage meteorology students from across the country to expand their future career prospects.
