June GLOBE Tech Update
May 25, 2022
As always, GLOBE continues to work to ensure that your “use” of the website, and associated apps, is as user-friendly as possible. In addition to regular maintenance and support, GLOBE has been working on a number of improvements for teachers and their students.
Upcoming Improvements/Enhancements
- Coming in June, enhancements will make it easier for teachers to set up student accounts and track individual student measurements.
- GLOBE will also be implementing "screen names" for students and participants using The GLOBE Program’s app, GLOBE Observer. Students and GLOBE Observers can choose from a generic name or a fun science explorer name. (This name will be seen on teacher pages as well as on team pages, so students and GLOBE Observers will be able to see their individual measurements.)
- GLOBE will also be modifying the "My Observations" page so everyone will have a page (including students) that shows all measurements -- not just the GLOBE Observer protocols.
- Did you know that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently reviewing all clouds photos, blurring out faces and signs to help ensure privacy? It is, and this AI will soon be implemented across all photo submissions.
