Congratulations, 2024 IVSS Research Teams!
Congratulations to all students who submitted projects to the 2024 International Virtual Science Symposium (IVSS). This year, we received over 270 projects from primary through undergraduate students from over 20 countries, in seven languages, and representing all six GLOBE regions. This is a record number of projects, and we are so proud of our student researchers and their mentors for this huge accomplishment!
Amy P. Chen, Ph.D., Program Manager for The GLOBE Program (left), extends further praise for the IVSS participants. "It’s great to see the wide range of projects that are driven by your interests and curiosity, and relevant to your local communities and the Earth System. We are very proud of all of our participants and their mentors for this huge accomplishment!"
Student research teams demonstrated creative problem-solving skills in a diverse array of topics related to this year’s theme “Climate Investigations: Understanding Earth as a System.” You can access student research projects from GLOBE’s Student Research Reports page.
The judging period begins on 20 March when we will share 2024 IVSS projects with our esteemed volunteer judges for scoring and feedback. We look forward to celebrating the hard work of all student researchers and announcing this year’s stipend recipients during the GLOBE Earth Day broadcast on 22 April.
